Catching up on some blog posts. The lovely Zandalee was such a fun and bubbly bride and could not wait to meet her groom at the Altar.
We loved every minute of of this shoot! Great couple, beautiful smiles and stunning weather.
Comrades Marathon is one of the events we photograph, that stays in our minds until the next Comrades race. It is awe inspiring, mind blowing and we treasure the privilege to be photographers of such an epic race.
It takes months of training, time and effort to prepare for Comrades and lots of courage to line up early in the morning at the start, knowing the battle is yours to conquer. We salute each and everyone of you!
The spirit along the route is always something to experience, runners helping each other, people who have never met before sharing life stories. Even I, taking photos from the back of a motorbike, had the pleasure of having full-blown conversations with the runners as they ran next to us. The look of utter disbelief on the faces of the runners having to turn around at Drummond because they did not make cut off, or the agony of runners with severe cramping is heartbreaking, but then you get to the finish and you experience the elation of runners who cross the finishline. That is the true story of Comrades!!
We want to mention Tubby, who belongs to the Highway Dragons Club. He organises our motorbike riders and they do a phenomenal job of keeping us safe on the bikes. Savvy, for making sure Kierran gets leading men. Martin, who ensures that Mike has the perfect vantage point for leading ladies. Joe, who took Em on her creative journey for the perfect pic and last but not least, Bushy for putting up with me (Magda). Thanks for the cup of coffee, it was soo nice!
Thanks to all of our MMPhotoSA team – you guys are amazing.
Until next year.
This shoot with Mark & Wanda took forever to plan as schedules had to be aligned and the weather had to be in our favor. So, when Wanda phoned to say the weekend of the 13th October is clear and weather forecast seems good we were overjoyed! It coincided with their one year wedding anniversary so all was set with high hopes that the weather would hold. Needless to say the day dawned as the coldest day in October but nothing was going to get in the way of this shoot, we braved the cold and had the most amazing time capturing their love and happiness!
We love working with Blu when they decide they want to do a shoot. It is always filled with fun and laughter and good times all around. This shoot was done at Blu Gel Hair studio and Savannah Estate. Hair: By Blu Gel, Make-up: Odette
Eish! The weather definitely not playing nicely with us today. We did all the team photographs last night and could feel it getting cooler by the minute we even had the rumblings of thunder and some ligtning! Today is cold and wet and we are freezing while standing next to the Astro taking action pics but the vibe is awesome. This is the game between Amajuba playing in the green and the Umgungundlovu Starlings, Starlings won 1-0….
The 29th June 2013 saw the KZN Winter Air show come to Pietermaritzburg. A beautiful sunny day with clear skies and the sound of airplanes being manipulated by skilled aerobatic pilots. Scully Levin and his team in the Eqstra Harvards. The Impala team Dawid Laas and Mike Weingartz and the Goodyear Eagles team, to name but a few. Marius and Reuben/had a bit of a competition to see who got the shot of the day while making sure that they get enough variety to send through to Ursula at Capital Media for publication.
We have mostly beautiful days in the month of May and on 25th May we had exactly that, a glorious sunrise that promised an amazing day ahead, and with their wedding venue at the picturesque Eden Lassie the light promised to be good. Angelique ran a little late which snowballed into a bit of a rush to get everything running smoothly again but all was soon back on track again. Angelique looked gorgeous and could not wait to meet Lloyd at the altar. Lloyd showed a little bit of nerves but his face lit up with the most radiant smile when he saw Angelique walking down the isle. Their love for each other was tangible in every corner of the chapel which set the tone for the rest of the day with lots of smiles, laughter and fun.
